Call for Abstracts

Union College is proud to sponsor the 12th Symposium on Engineering and Liberal Education

Friday and Saturday, May 31 and June 1, 2019 in Schenectady,  New York

We invite abstracts on any topics that relate to how engineering integrates into a liberal arts education, and how liberal arts integrate into an engineering education. We also welcome your ideas for organizing sessions or workshops for this year’s symposium. At this stage, we are planning a special session on sustainable urban development/renewal to examine how liberal arts and engineering disciplines are working side by side to improve many aspects of urban living. We will also have two special sessions devoted to “The complete engineer: why soft skills are so hard” and “Technological literacy”.

Abstracts should be 250-300 words and may be submitted using this FORM. If you would like your abstract to be considered as part of a special session or as a session proposal, workshop, or some other kind of non-traditional format, please indicate this in your submission and we will be happy to work with you on your ideas. Here are some deadlines
