Prof. Tuon is invited to contribute to a publisher’s literary blog

Prof. Tuon was invited by Marco North, editor of the publisher Bittersweet Editors, to contribute to the blog “Big Hunger.”  Here is a link to the first of his three-part series on writing, in which Tuon makes a moving tribute to his grandmother, who had saved his life during the Khmer Rouge years in Cambodia. When it comes to writing, he also states, “For me, writing is healing, a way to recover what was lost in war, genocide, and migration, to suture the wound, to memorialize and honor family members and friends. I write out of love, honor, and obligation.”
