Panel Discussion, “Living with Creativity and Mindfulness”

Tuesday, February 4th, 2014, 4:30-6:00 PM, Nott Memorial

The Mandeville Gallery will present a panel discussion, “Living with Creativity and Mindfulness,” to celebrate the current exhibition, On Being. Zen Master, Robert Kennedy, S.J., Dharma Holder and Chaplain, Miriam Healy, along with exhibiting artist and Zen practitioner, Sheila Ross, will discuss their journeys and how meditation, the visual arts and poetry guide their lives toward well-being.

Robert Kennedy, S.J., “Roshi”, is a Jesuit priest and Zen teacher in the White Plum lineage. He studied with Yamada Roshi in Kamakura, Japan, with Maezumi Roshi in Los Angeles, and with Glassman Roshi in New York. Glassman Roshi installed Kennedy as sensei in 1991 and conferred inka (his final seal of approval) in 1997, making him a roshi (master).
Kennedy Roshi is the author of Zen Gifts to Christians and Zen Spirit, Christian Spirit.

Co-sponsored by the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life. There will be wine and light refreshments before the discussion. This event is free and open to the public.
