We offer three programs for funding student research activities for students who are currently enrolled at Union College
- Student Research Grants
Student Research Grants were established to promote educational innovation and to help enrich the College’s educational programs. Student Research Grants encourage intellectual curiosity and provide opportunities to exercise intellectual abilities. Student Research Grant funds can be used for expenses related to thesis or project courses that are taken for credit.
Fall 2023 Deadlines:
First Round (for projects starting immediately): Student applications due Thursday, September 21.
Second Round (for projects beginning in Winter): Student applications due Thursday, November 2.
Winter 2024 Deadline: Student applications due Thursday, January 25.
Spring 2024 Deadline (for projects starting July 1, 2023 or later): Student applications due Thursday, May 16.
- Student Conference Travel Grants
These grants allow students enrolled at Union College to travel to professional meetings to present the results of research they have done at Union. SCTG applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, as they are received. Please apply several weeks in advance of travel, to allow processing of the accounts. - Summer Research
Each year over 100 Union College students spend the summer on campus working one-on-one with a professor on a project of mutual interest. Students receive a stipend and have access to on-campus housing.
