2014 Summer Research Fellow Jordan Pulling

Jordan is from Ballston Spa, NY and will be a senior at Union College this fall. She is an Environmental Science and French double major with a minor in Environmental Engineering. On campus, Jordan is involved in U-Sustain, the Green Fee Governance Committee, her Minerva house council, and the Crew team.

Jordan was the fifth generation in her family to grow up in the Adirondacks and has been interested in the Adirondacks for as long as she can remember. This summer, Jordan chose to study the history of how transportation and tourism affected the culture of the Adirondack Park and its full-time residents as well as how tourism in the park affects permanent park residents and seasonal residents/visitors differently. The title of Jordan’s research paper was “Transportation and Tourism in the Adirondack Park: How the historical development of transportation and tourism shaped the culture of the Adirondacks”.
