Tree Shape

The first topic was Tree Shape and its ecological significance. Since there were no leaves on the deciduous trees on campus yet, the trees’ branch geometry showed the variations typical of each species. Each student was asked to draw two leafless trees and one conifer tree, plus their twigs and buds. The medium was pen and ink, the most basic artistic technique for them to master.
