This course examines the evolutionary diversity of animal locomotion by investigating how physical properties of both the organisms and their environment affect the biochemistry, anatomy, and physiology of muscle functions and movement in mammals and other animals. This class also utilizes mechanical and engineering principles to explain locomotory biomechanics of animal locomotion mechanisms of animals. No lab.
Prerequisite: BIO-112 (101) and PHY 110 or 120, or permission of instructor.
