Thursday, December 3: In Charleston: Black History Tour, James and John Islands; McCleod Plantation (with slave cabins)
Friday, December 4: In Charleston: Sullivan’s Island (the African American “Ellis Island”), and Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens (with original slave cabins)
Saturday December 5: Depart for Atlanta
Sunday December 6: In Atlanta: King Center and King’s birth home, Meet with Charles Person (one of the original 1961 Freedom Riders)
Monday December 7: In Atlanta: Meet with Reverend C.T. Vivian at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Rev. Vivian was a major Civil Rights leader and close ally of Martin Luther King Jr.
Depart Atlanta for Montgomery
Tuesday December 8: In Montgomery: Rosa Parks Library and Museum, Greyhound Freedom Rides Exterior , Dexter Ave. Memorial Baptist Church, Tour of King Parsonage, Southern Poverty Law Center, Civil Rights Memorial , Center Theatre Exhibits, Wall of Tolerance
Wednesday December 9: Depart Montgomery for Selma: Meet with Joanne Bland at 11:00 at Essie’s for lunch. Ms. Bland marched across the Pettus Bridge on Bloody Sunday as an 11 year old. Cross the Edmund Pettus Bridge; visit sites along the Selma to Montgomery Highway; Brown Chapel AME Church (SCLC Headquarters) and more, all with Joanne Bland.
Depart Selma for Birmingham
Thursday December 10: In Birmingham: Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Kelly Ingram Park Tour. Meet with Carolyn McKinstry, a childhood friend of the four young girls killed in the Birmingham Sixteenth Street Baptist Church bombing. Ms. McKinstry was present when the church was bombed. She will give us a tour of the church and discuss her experience.
Friday December 11: Depart Birmingham for Memphis: National Civil Rights Museum (Lorraine Motel)

Friday December 18th: Fly Home
