Since 2002, Union College has hosted a two-week summer program called “Educating Girls for Engineering” (EDGE). ECE faculty and students are actively involved in the EDGE program, where a select group of high school girls from around the country learn about basic engineering principles, participate in communication and public speaking workshops, and take field trips. The workshop theme, Toys and Tools for Disabled Children, focuses on developing technologies to enhance the learning activities and communication skills of children with special needs.
