This microscope is routinely set up for transmitted polarized light work. Extra objectives are stored in the wooden box labeled “Research”. The objective centering wrenches are in a little plastic cap under the stage. They are allen wrenches, different from some of the other microscopes. For help making microscope adjustments, see here. Don’t fiddle with the things with a red X on them.

We also have all of the parts necessary to set this microscope up for reflected light work. They are kept in the glass in Olin 318.

The other side of the same microscope. For most photography you want the brightness all the way up (helps with color rendering, incandescent light bulb, you know). Otherwise, suit yourself.
