Academic Honor Code

Union students, concerned about issues of academic misconduct at Union, requested a reinstatement of the Honor Code in 2006.

Union’s current Academic Honor Code became effective on September 1, 2012. Since then, the Honor Council has worked to educate the Union community on the importance of academic integrity and honorability. The culture of academic honesty at Union has become stronger in recent years as a result. Every class at Union reminds students to complete their own work by inclusion of the Honor Code in class lectures, syllabi, and assignment handouts.

The body tasked with implementing Honor Code principles of the Honor Code and educating the Union campus is the Honor Council. Currently, the Honor Council is made up of thirty-four students, four faculty representatives, and six officers.
