Call for Entries: African Photography

Call for Entries

In anticipation of the New York African Studies Association Conference to be held at Union College in April of 2015, the Wikoff Student Gallery will be exhibiting photography during the Spring 2015 term by Union students who have previously participated in term abroad programs in Eqypt, Senegal, South Africa, and Tanzania.

The spirit behind this art exhibition is to highlight students’ experiences of Africa which promote global awareness, beyond a touristic eye; we are seeking photographs that convey linguistic and cultural experiences in Africa, as a place for personal and professional growth.

If you participated in any of the programs listed below, we want your best photographs!

Send a maximum of 5 JPEGs to mottalis@union.edu, a description of the focus of your term abroad and a brief description of each photograph, including location and date. Deadline for entries is January 31, 2015.

  • Term abroad: Tanzania
  • Mini-term: South Africa, Senegal, Egypt
  • Davis Peace project: Ghana
  • Minerva house fellowships
  • Watson Fellowship

Deadline:
