Virtual Collage Night with Juan Hinojosa

April 21st, 2020, 5:00 – 6:00 PM, EST

Please join the Mandeville Gallery for a Virtual Collage Night with Juan Hinojosa, the current exhibiting artist in the Art Installation Series at Schaffer Library.

Hinojosa will lead participants in making their own collages with unconventional, everyday materials, and will give a brief introduction about his process and show examples of his work. Hinojosa will be working in real time, selecting materials and making design decisions, as he builds a collage.

This event is free and open to the public.

Collage materials can be found around your house, in your recycling bins, and in your junk drawers! In preparation for the event, please gather the following supplies:

– cereal boxes
– ribbon
– tape
– any paper
– newspapers
– magazines

Glue and scissors or an Exacto knife are a must!

– legos
– photos
– book sleeves
– old greeting or birthday cards
– old calendars
– any paper-like items!

Additional funding for the event is generously provided by Latin American and Caribbean Studies and the Department of Visual Arts.

Hinojosa’s installation entitled, All Mine, is on view in Schaffer Library through 2020. For more information about the Art Installation Series and related programming, please visit the Art Installation Series page.
