Managing Your Widgets

What is a WIDGET anyway?

“Widget” is a generic term that refers to a bit of code that allows the user to interact with the application or the operating system, or to make the interface look a certain way. Some typical widgets are buttons, dialog boxes, pull-down menus or pop-up windows, and progress indicators. Don’t worry, though. You’ll only need to know a tiny bit of code to use widgets in WordPress!

Go to  Dashboard | Appearance | Widgets

On the right are the places where you can add widgets.

The widgets available are on the left. Just click and drag the widget you want to use into the space where you want it placed.

At the bottom of that list is “Inactive Widgets”. You can store widgets you’ve created but no longer wish to use. You can click and drag them back into use any time.
