The men's swim team will be represented at the NCAA Championship Meet by the four members of the 200 freestyle relay team, which qualified 10th among the 11 teams selected by the NCAA. Senior
Ridgley Harrison (Hackettstown, NJ/Morristown), sophomore Elliot Sequin (E. Lansing, MI/Cranbrook-Kingswood), and freshmen
David Hogenkamp (East Aurora, NY/East Aurora) and Matt Acciani (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill East) are the four Dutchmen who will be competing at Emory College in Atlanta, Georgia, the weekend of March 20-22.

Additionally, Harrison and Sequin both posted qualifying times that will allow them to compete in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle events while the relay team is eligible to compete in four other relays.

Last year's NCAA meet saw Harrison score in all three of his freestyle events, finishing tied for 12th in the 50 (21.13), 11th in the 200 (1:41.25), and 13th in the 100 (46.38) qualifying him as an honorable mention All-American in all three. Sequin, meanwhile, was 25th in the 50 freestyle (21.46) and 17th in the 100 freestyle (46.48). The duo were also members of the 800 freestyle relay team, which finished 9th with a time of 6:52.72, the 400 freestyle relay team, which placed 11th with a time of 3:07.44, and the 200 freestyle relay team, which finished 16th with a time of 1:26.77. All three teams qualified for honorable mention All-American status (top eight finishers earn All-American while nine through 16 are honorable mention).

Those finishes helped the Dutchmen finish 21st in the meet with 45.6 points (up from 38th in the 2001 meet when Union scored 16 points).

“Elliot and Ridgely are in the top 20 of each of the events and they are both in the top eight of the 50 freestyle,” explained second-year head coach Scott Felix. “They are going to have to go faster at the meet to be All-Americans. Last season we did go faster at NCAA's and I think that we have set ourselves up to do the same thing this season.

“Ridgely and Elliot qualified last season and know what is expected in order to perform well at the meet,” Felix continued. “They will have to help our two freshmen, DJ Hogenkamp and Matt Acciani, step up for the competition. Their leadership will help DJ and Matt succeed. I believe that we have an excellent opportunity to bring home some All-American performances.
