Current Project: 3D thermal imaging of moss canopies.
The temperature distribution within moss shoots may influence water loss through either free or forced convection. We are developing an instrument that combines a 3D laser scanner with a thermal imaging camera that allows us to estimate temperature distributions within moss canopies. We will use this to explore how variation in thermal gradients affects canopy-level water dynamics.
