This workshop will have one faculty member share something learned from a Faculty Development Institute (FDI) s/he is applying in the classroom and one faculty member “stuck” with a project where the insight from various disciplines could lead to opportunities for shared scholarship.

So frequently we encourage our students to broaden their perspectives by taking classes with students who have different interests and who are pursuing different academic disciplines, but how often do we, as faculty, share our ideas and questions about our own research with scholars from different disciplines here in our own academic community? We want our students to ask questions and share when they don’t understand something, but how comfortable are we as faculty doing this with one another? How often do we get a chance to present our scholarship and share with the audience “Help-I don’t know where heck to go from here”?!!! 😉
