2019 - 2020 Team

Ben Weinstein - Co-President

Ben is a Senior from Armonk, NY graduating with an interdisciplinary major in Economics and English. Ben will be working at Evercore ISI post-graduation as an Equity Research Sales Associate. This past summer, Ben interned with Evercore ISI working for four weeks in Equity Trading, three weeks in Equity Research Sales, and one week in Equity Capital Markets. Along with being Co-President of The Garnet Group and teaching the group’s Wall Street Leadership Academy he is a Men’s Varsity Soccer Player, an Admissions Office Intern interviewing prospective Union College students, President of The Order of Omega Honors Society, ODK Leadership Honors Society, ODE Economics Honors Society, STD English Honors Society, studied abroad in Capetown, South Africa, Vice President of The Sigma Chi Fraternity, named the 2018-2019 Union College Greek Man of the Year, Economics Professor Interviewer.

Brianna Stout - Co-President

Bri is a Senior from Concord, MA, majoring in Political Science with a minor Economics. Post-graduation, Brianna will be returning to the Markets and Securities division at Citigroup. During her Sophomore summer, she interned at Massachusetts Financial Services with the Commissions Management Group for ten weeks. During her Junior summer, she interned at Citigroup in their Markets and Securities division, where she did a three three-week rotation program through the Strategic Equity Solutions, Leverage Loan Trading, and Investment Grade Sales. Outside of the Garnet Group, she was the Women’s Lacrosse team’s captain, the president of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, an Economics Department Professor Interviewer, and the co-president of the Women in Economics Society. In her free time, Brianna enjoys going to the beach, reading, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Sam Cox - Portfolio Manager

Sam Cox is a chinese and economics major. He has worked at BDA Partners as an investment banking intern and at Brunswick Group, and hopes to enroll in law school. He spent his junior year studying chinese at Minzu University in Beijing. After graduation, Sam is slated to work as a Litigation Legal Assistant at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York City for two years.

Michael Secchiaroli - Portfolio Manager

Michael is a senior from Milford, CT majoring in political science with a minor in philosophy. He recently completed a senior thesis titled “Antitrust in the Digital Economy: Big Tech as an Impetus for a Renewal in American Antitrust Law”. While at Union Michael has been involved in Greek life, the new student orientation committee, and ski club. His favorite activities are going to the beach and watching the New York Yankees. Michael has completed internship programs at AYCO, Duff & Phelps, as well as in state and federal government offices. Upon graduating from Union Michael will enter a two-year paralegal program in Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton’s corporate law practice as he prepares to apply for law school. 

Yasin Dombayci - Portfolio Manager

Yasin was the Captain of the Men’s Soccer team at Union College and was involved with the Student Athletic Advisory Committee. Upon graduation, Yasin will be working at Select Dental Management, a private equity firm consolidating the dental practice industry, as an analyst for Elliot Zibel ’02 the CEO of Select Dental.

Sal Lopez - Real Estate

Salvador Lopez is a senior from Port Chester, NY majoring in Economics and minoring in Visual Arts. On campus, Sal is involved in the Garnet Society, Alumni Relations, Student Athletic Advisory Committee, Athletic Liaison Committee, and a member of the Union Men’s Soccer team. During the summer of 2018, Sal interned with Commercial Real Estate owner and developer, Rudin Management Co. This past summer Sal was a summer analyst for the Bank of America Commercial Real Estate Banking team in New York, where he will return as a full-time analyst upon graduation.

Kane Jaklitsch - Fixed Income

Kane is a junior from Long Island, NY majoring in Computer Science and Economics. This past summer and winter, Kane interned at Tradeweb within their Credit Electronic Trading division. This coming summer, he will be interning at Morgan Stanley within their Public Finance Investment Banking Division. On campus, Kane is a member of ODE – The National Honor Society for Economics and a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. In his free time, he enjoys exercising, reading, and supporting the NY Jets and NY Knicks.

Griffin Morgan - Credit

Griffin Morgan is from Wellesley, MA, where he attended Wellesley High School. He will graduate Union in June 2020 with an honors degree in economics and as a member of The International Honor Society for Economics. Over the last four years at Union, he has been a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, the Senior Class Gift Committee, the Men’s Varsity Lacrosse program, and the Garnet Group. During his fall term junior year he spent three months studying abroad in Antwerp, Belgium as a part of the economics exchange program. He spent this past summer with VDC Research as an intern for their technology research group. 

Jarrod Trief - Consumer

Jarrod is a senior from Stamford, CT majoring in Managerial Economics with a double minor in Statistics and Gender Studies.  This past summer he interned at Morgan Stanley within their Fixed Income Sales and Trading division in NYC. He is also a graduate of the Tuck Business Bridge Program at Dartmouth and has banking experience at Chatsworth Securities in Greenwich, CT. On campus, Jarrod is president of the bowling club and actively volunteers at the local nursing home. In his free time, he enjoys watching NBA basketball, playing poker, fortnite, fishing, and mentoring younger students.

Drew Johnson - Consumer

Drew is a Senior from Stoneham, MA, majoring in Managerial Economics with a minor in Classics. In the past summer, he worked under financial advisors with high-net-worth individuals at Raymond James Financial Services and is currently working as an investment banking intern at Etico Partners in Clifton Park. This upcoming fall he will be pursuing graduate school and a Master in Management degree at the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain. At Union, Drew is a member of the Finance Committee, the General Education Task Force, and a former member of the baseball team. In his free time he enjoys reading, cooking, working out, and spending time with friends, family, and two dogs Bo and Casey.

Ethan Craig - Real Estate

Ethan is a senior from Baldwinsville, New York studying Economics and English through an Interdisciplinary major.  Previously, Ethan was a Summer Acquisitions Analyst at JRK Property Holdings, a multi-billion dollar commercial real estate manager in Los Angeles.  Following graduation, he is an incoming analyst at BNY Mellon.  On campus, Ethan is a member of the Union College Division III Cross-Country team and a tour guide.  Previously, he served on the executive board of the Interfraternity Council.  In his free time, Ethan enjoys playing basketball, reading, and drawing. 

Rob Harrington - Consumer

Rob is a senior from Scotch Plains, NJ majoring in economics and minoring in computer science and mathematics. Last summer Rob interned at Wells Fargo Advisors in Linwood, NJ. At Union, Rob is a residential advisor in Davidson Hall. In his free time, Rob enjoys spending time with his friends and trying new things.

Mary Beth Rudolf - Healthcare

Mary Beth is a junior from Danbury, CT majoring in Economics. She has prior experience working with startups and business development through an internship at Braathe Enterprises. This upcoming summer Mary Beth will be interning at Dimensional Fund Advisors as a member of their Global Client Group. On campus, Mary Beth serves as the VP of Recruitment for the Garnet Society, is a member of the Field Hockey Team, resides on the Honor Council, and was a member of the Wall Street Leadership Academy last spring. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, running, and spending time with her dogs.

Corey Rutkin

Corey Rutkin is a junior from Great Neck, New York majoring in Economics with a minor in U.S. History. Corey has held several leadership roles on campus — President of the Sigma Chi fraternity, Member of the Academic Affairs Council and a member of its Sub-council for Academic Policy, Vice-President of Membership for the Garnet Society, a member of the college’s recent VPCM search committee, and a past Opinions Editor for the Concordiensis. Outside of campus, he’s a New York State certified EMT, having volunteered in his hometown as a firefighter and EMT in high school. He’s also interned in both houses off the New York State Legislature. Corey’s an avid writer and has had his writing published in the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post. In his free time, Corey plays golf (competitively and for fun) and enjoys skiing in the winter.

Arya Amuzgar - Financials

Arya is a Sophomore from Wellesley, MA majoring in Economics with a minor in History. In the past, he has interned for the Town of Wellesley Office of Treasurer, where he gained insight into the process for issuing general obligation municipal bonds. Arya also spends his time actively managing his personal portfolio, focusing on both diversified long-equity investments and short term trading strategies. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, fishing, working out, reading, and coin collecting.

Sai Lyon Ho - TMT

Sai is a sophomore at Union College from Caracas, Venezuela, with an interdepartmental (ID) major in economics and computer science. He co-founded the entrepreneurship club EON (Entrepreneurs of the Nott) and is a member of the University Innovation Fellows (UIF). His internship experience includes a 6 week trading internship challenge focused on nano to medium market capitalization equities. Apart from his passion in the financial market, he enjoys taking on small tech projects such as building simple apps to enhance his coding skills. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends and family.

Professor Dong (Carl) Cheng – Faculty Advisor

Professor Cheng is currently a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Economics at Union College. As of April 2019, Professor Cheng is on the tenure track in the Department of Economics at Union College. He has a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from Vanderbilt University. In addition, he holds an M.A. and B.A. in Economics from Renmin University of China.
