Water activist shares her vision with sociology students

The students of Prof. Hill-Butler’s SOC207 class were excited to have Flint, Michigan water activist E. Yvonne Lewis visit with them on Thursday February 2, 2017.  Ms. Lewis, the second speaker in ESPE’s Winter Speaker Series, spoke Wednesday evening on Get the Lead Out: Safe Drinking Water and Environmental Justice. Lewis’ has done exceptional organizing work in Flint, Michigan as that community struggles to get their water supply cleaned up.  Her faith and commitment inspired our students. Earlier in the day, she met with local Schenectady community leaders as well.  We are grateful to the Mosh grant program for their support of her visit to campus.
