Here, I will compile a list of tutorials that have helped me learn the various software. You can click the images to be brought to the tutorials I am describing in the posts below them.

 

 

Recently, Union has subscribed to the Lynda.com service and a ton of content has become available to students. The Lynda.com tutorials may be long, but you don’t have to watch the entire video, you can just browse the video’s sections and choose which part to watch based upon what you are having trouble with. Another great feature about this website is that it provides exercises for you to do and try out while you are watching so that you can get a feel for the software before you start on your own project with it.

        The company that owns Sketchup, Trimble, has a wide array of short focus videos on showing you how to perform specific tasks in the Sketchup environment. The main page features tips for achieve specific effects in Sketchup. Included are: Getting started, Familiar with Sketchup, Layout, Toolbar Series, Creating Models in Google Earth. Each are a video series including a playlist on the individual concepts.

        Lastly, Camtasia also has its own Lynda.com essentials tutorial that is in the similar vein to the Sketchup tutorials  where you don’t need to watch everything just the parts which you need assistance with. When I first learned Camtasia I used the Lynda.com tutorials that the Techsmith, the company that made Camtasia, provides. But now that the school has subscription to the service you have access to all the website has to offer. With that being said Techsmith itself has some really nice videos that are more target focused at specific topics. In combination with both of them you can learn all you ever would want to know about the Camtasia software.
