While serving as a senior member of the performance faculty at Boston University from 1981- 1994, his professional work was seen at the Alley Theater, the People’s Theater, the Hartman Theater Company, the Huntington Theater Company, Portland Stage, Trinity Square Repertory Company, and the American Repertory Theater.

Prof. Culbert is an internationally trained actress and a teaching professional who specializes in vocal and performance training for the actor. She is a Voice Over artist for Audio Books and coaches theater productions at colleges and professional theaters throughout the capital region and is an acting company member of the Saratoga Shakespeare Company in Saratoga Springs, New York.

Andrew joined Union College faculty after working at Western Carolina University as an Assistant Professor of Scenic Design. Before working at WCU, he moved from New York City where he was the resident assistant scenic associate at City Center’s Encores! program under scenic consultant John Lee Beatty. He also assisted Mr. Beatty with Broadway productions including “The Nance”, “Big Knife”, and “Orphans”. Andrew also worked with scenic designer David Zinn on and off Broadway on productions of “Violet”, “Kung Fu”, “The Realistic Joneses” and “The Last Ship”.

Prof. Venning has published articles in Asian Theatre Journal, Forum for Modern Language Studies, and Performing Arts Resources, as well as numerous book and performance reviews in a broad range of scholarly journals. He is working on a book about Shakespearean performance and nation-building in nineteenth-century Germany. Before entering academia, he was the Associate Dramaturg at the California Shakespeare Theatre.

Brittney has been behind the scenes in theatre costume shops since the age of 14. She has been privileged to work in professional and educational costumes shops across the country from Alaska to Virginia and many places in between, including seven seasons at the nationally acclaimed Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, NY and four seasons as costume designer for the Saratoga Shakespeare Company.

Bob is serving as the Technical Director/Lighting Designer and Lecturer. Previously, Bob was the faculty Technical Director/Production Manager for the Theatre Department at University at Albany, SUNY. During the final year of construction and the first year and a half of operation, Bob was the Director for Stage Technologies at EMPAC working with the contractor and RPI.

Miryam Moutillet studied Russian and Balanchine dance styles with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, the National School of Canada and the Banff School of Fine Arts. Her professional career started in 1974 when she danced internationally with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and interpreted classical and contemporary works by choreographers such as Balanchine, Fokine, Petipa, Bejart, Butler, Nault.

Laurie has an extensive history in performance, choreography, and teaching. Laurie attended Kent State University as a dance major, then went on to dance professionally for over 20 years dancing with Whitley Setrakian and Dancers-People Dancing, Eisenhower Dance Ensemble, Harbinger Dance Company, Ann Arbor Dance Works, 2 Duet Theater, Tango Fusion, as well as numerous independent artists. She has danced with artists from David Parsons, Mark Morris, Bill T. Jones, and Martha Graham Dance Company.

Graduated from Russell Sage College with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. She studied Jazz, Modern, and Hip Hop with Philip Cole of Montreal, coaches the Emeralds Dance Team for the Albany Patroons and teaches Hip Hop at EBA Center as well.

Christine Geren

Christine Geren

Dance Instructor, Ballet and Pilates

Ms. Geren began her training with The Northeast Ballet Company in Schenectady, NY.  Supported by dance and academic scholarships, she earned a BA in Dance from Mercyhurst College while also performing lead roles with The Lake Erie Ballet in The Nutcracker, Balanchine’s Serenade, and Alice in Wonderland and Giselle, among others.  Ms. Geren is currently a principal dancer with the Albany Berkshire Ballet, guest artist with the Ajkun Ballet Theatre and a seasonal member of the Northeast Ballet Company.
