Job Title: Software Engineering

Job Description:

Siemens Power Technologies International (Siemens PTI) is seeking qualified undergraduate and graduate students to fill part time-to-full time internship positions in their Software Development department in our Schenectady (NY) office.

Job Responsibilities:

The candidate will use the Python language to develop software for the power systems application, develop python applications that may involve graphical interfaces, distributed processing, databases, visualization and more! Work with our team of developers and other staff to define, design, and implement prototypes, processes and/or applications.

Job Requirements:

The preferred candidate is a college junior or higher but will consider other applicants with demonstrated programming experience. Technical major is preferred (computer science, engineering, physics) but any major will be considered paired with the appropriate skill set.
• Computer programming experience and knowledge of software development process are required
• Ability to program in Python® or another language and the ability to quickly learn Python is required
• Knowledge of distributed processing (e.g. MPI, multiprocessing) and graphical user interfaces (e.g.       wxPython) is a plus
• Knowledge/use of Source Control tools is a plus
• Computer Graphics CSC-385 and/or knowledge of OpenGL 3.X and above is a plus
