Fabric Cutting Device

Union College
Class of 2018
The goal of this project is to create a cutting table that the disabled employees at the Schenectady ARC can use safely and efficiently. At the Schenectady ARC, small businesses rent out floor space and employee these adults with disabilities to produce there particular products. Currently, the company Tiddy Tots is producing there reusable diaper at this facility. One of the major parts of producing their diapers is cutter the hemp material so it can be sent out to be washed. At this time there is not a safe way for the employees to cut the material and therefore someone else has to do it. If such a system was available, the ARC would be able to offer this service to wide range of potential business, not just Tiddy Tots
