A Success!
The models were tested both before and after manufacturing. The tests prior to production were performed via a Matlab code called VTCalcs as a sanity check. That is to say the results provided reassurance that the Solidworks models were accurate and ready to be printed. Once the printed models were received, they were tested quantitatively and qualitatively. Audio recordings were made of each model’s output and analyzed using the computer program Praat. Additionally, volunteers were asked to listen to the set of five models and identify the sound they heard.
More testing will be done on these models next term in preparation for Steinmetz Symposium and possible publication of this work.
