– Created an account in the Prezi platform.

– Started the Prezi presentation. Its simple so far.

– Talked with Tony from general Electric and supervisor Cherrice Traver about the project. Tony gave advice on the next steps of the project, and showed a fundamental concept that wasn’t fully understood by me [ The concept of computing WITH memory ].

– Finished analyzing the C code of the audio demonstration.

– Spoke with supervisor Cherrice Traver about the next steps of the project. In particular 2 steps:

  • The seminar presentation that will happen in 07/29/2014.
  • The tradeoffs of designing / using a system component in soft core or hard core.

– Continued with the reverse engineering in the Audio demonstration C code. Almost finished !!!

– Read some more about Verilog Hardware Description Language in order to understand the bottom section of the Top level design file ( the Verilog file created by the Qsys® ) in Quarthus® II.

 

Comments:

 

  • I have to document very well the research done in the C code.
  • The relation between hardware and software is fundamental to completely understand the C code.
