For Week 1 of the Fall-Term portion of my Senior Project was entirely composed of conducting the necessary background research on this year’s IEEE Signal Processing Cup competition. This year’s competition is a forensic camera model identification challenge. Along with the competition guidelines, the IEEE Signal Processing Society provided teams with 11 references as supplement information for the competition. So, my task for this week was to read through each of these references and summarize the important information that each document could provide to our team. Once having this information, I could then use the information I collected as a quick-reference guide when deciding on our team’s final camera identification system design. My second task for Week 1 was to research commonly used machine learning techniques in order to have an idea on which technique our team might need to implement in our final system design.
