During Week 5, all of the parts arrived and I constructed the first version of the linear generator. I had obtained 1/2″ electrical PVC and end caps on my own and cut the pipe to around an 1-1/2″ in length. This model was not to be put into the skate it was just to test with. I continued to work on my Defense Design Presentation and I needed a rough draft of the presentation done by the beginning of Week 6, so Professor Dosiek could go over it with me. I also began to take apart the shake light flashlight that was ordered. We found a circuit diagram that represented the circuitry within the flashlight. The circuit diagram of the flashlight, the constructed linear generator and the make-up of the flashlight are shown below.
