During Week 9, I had a conversation with my hockey linemate, Mike Geiger, on the way back from a game. he asked about my senior project because he had heard about it from someone else. I talked to him about it in depth and he asked if he could work on it for his sophomore research project. He came to the meeting I had with Professor Dosiek during the week. During this meeting we decided it was necessary to find the energy needed to heat the blade to 41F. I was going to do this by speaking to one of my mechanical engineering friends for the equation. During this meeting, I also decided that it would be much easier to build the mechanical shaking device out of wood than order more parts online. I will build this device over winter break as I continue to work on my project.
