Works on Paper:
Andy Warhol Photographic Legacy Program Collection
Union College joins 183 other university and college museums, galleries, and art collections across the United States, as an institution invited to take part in the Andy Warhol Photographic Legacy Program.
This program was launched in 2007 by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, in an effort to provide greater access to Warhol’s artwork, and to demonstrate the significance of photography in his artistic process: he often used photographs as studies for his portraits and screenprints, which also serve as a record of his interactions with his sitters.
In addition to our most recent gift of six screenprints in 2014, Union College received 158 photographs by Andy Warhol in 2008, both Polaroid and black and white photographs.
