Single-use Plastics at Union

This graph shows the average amount of declining these individuals spend at Union per week. Declining is used outside of the dining halls therefore every item is individually wrapped or bottled. There are no reusable dishes or cutlery. Hence the more declining spent per week, the more single-use plastics and waste there is. From this bar chart, we can infer that Zac uses and wastes the most single-use plastics.

  1. I think it’s really cool that you were able to draw from Union students in oder to put together this graph, especially because it pertains specifically to our class. Thanks for sharing!

  2. I like that you connected single use plastic to declining. That’s not something I have taken into consideration, but it is definitely important regarding sustainability!

  3. I am surprised that zac used this much per week. What meal plan is he on that he can afford this? I did not even think about the idea that using declining means you are using and wasting more materials. That is an interesting point. However there is also a lot of waste that happens in the dining halls as well.
