It was a good year-a very good year-for the College's Development Office.

The total received during the year was $15.15 million (a record), the Annual Fund passed $4 million for the first time, participation in the Annual Fund reached fifty-two percent (among the top two dozen in the country), eighty-eight endowed scholarships were either established or added to, and major gains were made on such projects as the renovation and expansion of the library, the renovation of Memorial Chapel, and an endowment for Jackson's Garden.

Dan West, vice president for college relations, noted that these and other achievements were done at a cost of about 13 cents per dollar raised-about half the national average for colleges and universities.

Details about the year will be found in the annual Report of Gifts in this issue of the magazine.
