Tuberculosis screening was continuing this week after a student was diagnosed with an active case of the disease on April 25, according to Sandy Mosher, director of College health services.

Most of the 150 “primary contacts” of the student have been tested. A handful of people have tested positive for TB, but county health officials are continuing their investigation to determine whether those people are infected, Mosher said. Positive readings are not necessarily connected with this case, she added.

TB is usually spread through the air only through close and prolonged
contact.
