Stephen M. Berk, the Florence B. Sherwood Professor of History and Culture at Union, will give a talk titled “Ben-Gurion, Roosevelt and the Holocaust” on Monday, April 20, at 8 p.m. in Union College's Memorial Chapel.

The event — part of Lessons for Humanity, a series of Holocaust remembrance events at Union College — is free and open to the public.

Prof. Berk is an authority on the Holocaust, Russian and Soviet Jewish history, the American Jewish experience, Anti-Semitism, and Israel and the Middle East. He will examine the role of the decent bystanders of the Holocaust.

Lessons for Humanity: French Children of the Holocaust – A Memorial Exhibition and Of Light Amidst the Darkness – The Danish Rescue is presented by Union College and the Holocaust Survivors and Friends Education Center. Major support is provided by an anonymous donor from the Union College family.
