Sophomore forward Abbie West (Dalton, MA/Wachovia Regional High) helped lead
the Union College Dutchwomen to a 3-1 victory over rival Rensselaer last
Saturday. Both Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association teams went into the
game undefeated, but Union prevailed continuing its strong play this
season. The victory improved the Dutchwomen's record to 4-0 overall, and
2-0 in the UCAA.

West helped in the winning cause on Saturday by netting her fourth goal of
the year. The tally came in the second half to secure the Dutchwomen's
3-1 victory. West also had a key roll in holding Rensselaer to just one
goal. Also helping the Union cause, were juniors Lauren Byrne
(Northport, NY)
and Tara Illsley (Hicksville, NY), who each had a goal.

Abbie West is second on the
team in scoring with four goals and 10 points. West has started all four games the Dutchwomen and is second on the team
in total points with 10 points. She has scored four goals and
assisted on another two. West has helped lead a strong Union team,
as the Dutchwomen have now outscored there opponents by a total
of 24 –1.
Senior Missy Matusewicz, (Florence, MA) who
came into the year as Union's all-time scoring leader with 49 goals
and 116 points, leads the Dutchwomen with five goals and 12 points.
