Junior Audrey Brennan (Cooperstown,
NY/Cooperstown) and sophomore Corinn Jordan (New Hyde Park, NY/Herricks)
were both named to the All-Tournament team after leading the volleyball
team to a second place finish in the Union Invitational. Jordan was
also named to the All-Tourney team in week one after the Dutchwomen won
their first-ever Vassar Tournament title.
Senior defensive back Devon Wimberly (Albany,
NY/Albany Academy) and freshman defensive back Dan Mehleisen
(Albany, NY/CBA) were both named to the UCAA “Honor Roll”
after helping Union defeat WPI. Wimberly had nine first hits and an
assist (including a touchdown-saving tackle on a 64-yard run) while
Mehleisen was in on six tackles and set up 10 points with an interception
and fumble recovery.
Sophomore Angela Dallas (Hingham, MA/Noble and Greenough)
scored what proved to be the winning goal at 11:36 of the second
period to give the field hockey team its first win of the season.
Classmate Suzie Bruderman (Fairfield, CT) and junior Yvonne
Turchetti (Red Hook, NY) each picked up an assist on the
goal. Junior Jessica Wells (Hoosick Falls, NY) made two
saves.
