BRYAN SLEKES
Ties Single-Season TD Reception Mark

Senior wide receiver Bryan Slekes (Rochester, NY/Gates Chili) caught three scoring passes (of 38, six and 15 yards) giving him eight touchdowns for the year and tying the Dutchmen's all-time record for TD receptions in a single season at eight. The record was first set in 1967 and duplicated in both 1982 and 1983.

Slekes, who was the Dutchmen's leading receiver last year with 40 receptions and 517 yards, came into this season with two career touchdown receptions. He again leads the Garnet with his 27 receptions and 365 yards.

Slekes heads into the final two games of the regular season having caught 73 career passes for 1,003 yards in two and a half years as a receiver (he caught just six passes as a sophomore). Also the Dutchmen's punter for the last four years, Slekes has a career average of 34.3 yards with a long of 63. The UCAA All-Conference First Team punter as a sophomore, Slekes has put 34 of his 179 kicks inside the opponents' 20 yards line.

Bryan is also the starting shortstop for the baseball team and will enter the 2001 season with a .367 career average. He has driven in 31 career runs while scoring 45 times.
