Joanne and Bill St. Denis, parents of Patrick '03 and chairs of the Union College Parents Council, are pleased to announce that Debbie Denefrio, parent of Megann '03, has agreed to become the chair of the Parents Fund.

Debbie and her husband, John Denefrio '69, have been active at Union for many years. As chair, Debbie plans to focus on building an active Parents Fund Committee, providing a meaningful opportunity for parent volunteerism and building overall financial support for Union.

Parents can provide unrestricted funds to the College or designate their gifts to areas such as annual scholarships, student life, undergraduate research, and arts or engineering.

“Gifts from parents, many of whom are paying full tuition, send a strong message,” says Debbie Denefrio. “They indicate that parents feel very good about the quality of education their sons and daughters are receiving. Last year's Parents Fund was very successful with 63 percent of our current parents participating. It was very exciting to know that so many of our parents chose to make this statement.”
