Freshman Bernie Carey
Won the UCAA Championship's
200 Meter Dash

Freshman Bernie Carey (Dale City, VA/Espiscopal High) helped lead the men's track team to a third place finish in the UCAA meet. Carey won the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.85 and ran the third leg of the 400 meter relay team, which won in a time of 43:16. Freshman Kristin Bonomu (Shokan,NY/Onteora High) was named the UCAA “Rookie of the Week” as she helped the softball team earn a split with Rochester last Saturday. Bonomo's single in the sixth inning knocked in the winning run in a 4-3 victory…Senior ice hockey co-captain Clark Jones (Exeter, NH/Deerfield Academy), a political science major recently completed his senior thesis on violence in sports. Soto is not the only Union student-athlete to be leading the UCAA. Junior Pat Forrest (Topsfield, MA/Gov. Dummer) is the leading goaltender for the men, senior Julie Cardettino (Niskayuna, NY/Niskayuna) is the leading softball hitter and senior Jay Warzala (Whitesboro, NY/Whitesboro) leads baseball in hitting.
