Daniel O. Mosquera, assistant professor of Spanish, presented a paper titled “La vendedora de rosas: Subalternidad y lĂ­mites del testimonio en el cine de Victor Gaviria” at a conference on Latin American film (“Truth in the Lens”) at the University of Richmond. The conference gathered several Latin American film directors and scholars for a four-day symposium. He also gave a paper titled “The Politics of Popular Devotion and Religion in Latin America” at the Middle Atlantic Council of Latin American Studies (MACLAS) at Howard and American Universities in Washington.
