Ashraf Ghaly, associate professor of civil engineering and Jed Cahill '01 are co-authors of a paper, “Strength and deformation characteristics of rubberized concrete,” presented at the 16th International Conference on Solid Waste Technology and Management in Philadelphia. Ghaly also presented “Geotechnical and structural design of shallow foundations via the Internet” at the 10th International Conference on Computer Methods and Advances in Geomechanics at the University of Arizona; and “A forum for cross disciplinary views on controversial issues in undergraduate education,” at the Undergraduate Research Network (during the 15th National Conference on Undergraduate Research) at the University of Kentucky.
