Schenectady, N.Y. (May 11, 2001) – The folkloric youth dance
group, Bombazo Latino, will perform and offer an instructional dance session at
Union College's Nott Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15. This event is being held in conjunction with the Mandeville Gallery's current exhibition “Saints, Sinners and Sacred Spaces Devotional Folk Art from Latin America.”

Bombazo Latino embraces Latino culture through art. The
group is composed of dancers between the ages of 11 and 18.They focus on Afro-Caribbean and folkloric dances from Puerto Rico (bomba y plena), Dominican Republic (merengue) and  (salsa) from the rhythms of Cuba. Bombazo Latino is funded by a grant through the New York State Council of the Arts.
