Carol S. Weisse, director of health profession programs, has published a paper, “Do Gender and Race Affect Decisions About Pain Management?” in the April Journal of General Internal Medicine. Co-authors are Dr. Paul Sorum, Kafi Sanders '99 and Beth Syat '99. She also presented a paper at the annual meeting of the Eastern Psychological Association in Washington titled “Behavioral vs. Self-report Indices of Satisfactory Pain Control Among Patients Receiving Patient-Controlled Analgesia (PCA): Does Gender Matter?” Co-authors were Leah Oliveiri `00, Dana Weinkranz `99, and Jan Buhrmaster, R.N., Ellis Hospital.
