Recent gifts, grants, and bequests to the College include:

  • Josephine Carpenter, the wife of the late Bryan Carpenter '21, has established the Josephine C. and Bryan L. Carpenter Endowed Scholarship in memory of her husband.
  • Upon the death of Frederick Maser '30, the proceeds of a charitable gift annuity that he had established during his lifetime were added to an endowed account for the benefit of the College's Protestant Campus Ministry.
  • Kenneth N. Mathes '35 established a charitable gift annuity, the proceeds of which will eventually be added to the Kenneth N. Mathes '35 Endowed Scholarship Fund For Engineering Students On Terms Abroad.
  • An addition to a pooled life income fund was received from William A. Waldron '35. The ultimate purpose of this gift is the Charles Newman Waldron and Dorothy Waterman Waldron Memorial Fund.
  • A distribution was received from
    a trust established by the late
    Virginia G. Busha, wife of the late
    Roger Whalen Busha '39.
  • Grace E. Munzer, wife of the late
    Hans W. Munzer '39, has established a charitable gift annuity with the ultimate purpose of the funds being added
    to the Hans W. Munzer Memorial Scholarship Fund.
  • The proceeds from a charitable gift annuity that was established by the late Ernest H. Schmidt '40 were received.
  • Gordon '41 and Elizabeth Parker have established their second charitable gift annuity.
  • Gary K. Price established a charitable gift annuity. Upon his death, the proceeds will be added to the Reverend Gary K. Price '45 Scholarship.
  • Union received an unrestricted
    distribution from a pooled life income fund that was established by the late David Palmer '51.
  • Eileen S. Clegg, the widow of
    John C. Clegg '75, established the
    John C. and Eileen S. Clegg Endowed Scholarship, in memory of her late husband.
  • Wallace and Noella Plumb, along
    with Kenneth R. Plumb '80 and other family members and friends, have
    established the Ronald F. Plumb '80 Endowed Scholarship Fund in memory
    of their son. Preference in awarding this scholarship will be given to junior applicants whose background experiences demonstrate the commitment and ability to serve in a leadership capacity and who have an excellent record of extracurricular activities.
  • Martin and Linda Novack, along with other family members and friends, have established the Michael R. Novack '90 Endowed Scholarship in memory of
    their son. Preference in awarding this scholarship will be given to students who have exhibited aptitude and dedication toward biotechnology.
  • Hedda Hainebach, a former employee, established a third charitable gift annuity.
  • The Jeremy April '05 Memorial Scholarship has been established by the College and family and friends of Jeremy April. For more information, please contact Kathy Quinn at
