Alumni and friends who want to keep up to date
about U-Start can visit www.incubator.union.edu.

U-Start is a technology-focused business incubator associated with the College. Begun in 1999, U-Start supports and encourages promising entrepreneurs to commercialize their ideas in Schenectady County. The incubator provides flexible and competitive rental space and leases, shared administrative services and equipment, the opportunity to interact with other startup companies on a daily basis, and access to a mentor network of business and technical advisors.

U-Start is located at 4 Nott Terrace, adjacent to the campus, and has an intern program in which Union students volunteer to provide part-time assistance on projects selected by tenant companies. Recent intern projects have included market research, software development, graphic design, and product testing
and evaluation.

The incubator's companies include H&MTA, Synetics, Meenan Information Systems, Artela Systems, Tree Top Solutions/Schenectadyi.com, and WorkSmart Solutions.

Recent additions to the College's web site include:
  • News sites, located at www.union.edu/News, have
a new look and feel, and are more printer-friendly.

All of Union's news sites, including the Union College magazine site, the Chronicle, and the news release archive, are now presented with a more user-friendly graphical look. A search bar appears on every page, and when a web page is printed, it is optimized for paper presentation.

  • New “on-campus” home page http://oncampus.union.edu.

A new “on-campus” home page has been designed
primarily to provide students, faculty, and staff with a central place for all of the online tools they use most often. However, the page is open to everyone, and it provides a good place to get a very detailed look at
all of the services on Union's web site.

  • Course catalogs now available in a standard format.

Academic information for all departments and
programs, available at www.union.edu/academic/majors-minors/, has been standardized. Catalog information is available back to the 1998-1999 academic year
