Student photos show Irish life and culture

Posted on Oct 18, 2002

Elizabeth Daigle '03 has curated a show of photographs by students
who studied in Ireland
last fall on the College's anthropology term abroad led by Prof. George Gmelch.

The show, which also includes works by students who were on
the combined term with Hobart and William Smith, is in the Social Sciences
Gallery for the rest of the term.

Daigle received an IEF grant for the exhibit, which
combines students' comments with each photo.

“Hopefully, the exhibition will give the College community
a sense of the Irish landscape, the culture and lifestyle of the Irish people,
and the experience of the students, Daigle said. “These photographs will also
hopefully provide insight and inspiration for those students who have not yet
gone on a term abroad who are trying to decide if and where they would like to
go.”
