Financial Aid Director Michael
Brown will become a major gifts officer in College Relations effective Monday,
Jan. 20, it was announced by Tom Gutenberger, vice president for College Relations.

“With almost 15 years experience
at Union, Mike really knows the College and has the ability
to connect with our alumni,” Gutenberger said. Including his time at Union,
Brown has almost 20 years experience in college administration, having worked at
the University of Maryland
and Colgate University.

“Mike Brown is a well-respected
and seasoned pro,” said Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid Dan
Lundquist. “He brings stature and commitment to the College
Relations program at a critically important time, as the need for voluntary
support for higher education has never been more urgent.”

Beth Post has been named to
succeed Brown, Lundquist said.

“By my calculation,” said Brown, “I
have dispersed over $100 million to Union alumni.  I now plan to try and
get most of it back.”
