Schenectady, NY (January 27, 2003) – Union College goaltender Kris Mayotte
(Finleyville, PA)
was named the ECAC's Goalie of the Week for the week of January
27. This is the second GOW honor for Mayotte, who took home the honor on
October 19 after his first collegiate start.

The 6'0 155lb. freshman was in net for both Union wins this weekend, raising
his record to 8-5-2 overall and 5-3-1 in conference. He held a 1.00 GAA and .964
sv% vs. Dartmouth and Vermont in the Dutchmen's first road sweep of this series.
Mayotte has allowed only 3 goals in the last 10 periods in net (0.90 GAA, .963 sv%)
and has been in goal during the Dutchmen's recent winning streak.

Sophomore Joel Beal (Brantford, Ontario) also was honored by the ECAC on
Monday with his second Honor Roll mention. Beal eclipsed last season's leading
scorer for Union on Friday night, adding two assists to his 26 point total. He also
assisted on Union's gamewinner on Saturday, bringing his season total to 29 (6-23-
29). Beal, Union's leader with assists and points, has five assists in the last three games
and leads all ECAC players overall with points and assists.
