Cornell Moves Into First-Place Tie
Union Takes Weekend Sweep on the Road

Cornell moved into a first-place tie with Harvard over the weekend after sweeping
a home series with Clarkson and St. Lawrence.

The Big Red took Friday's game against Clarkson, 3-0, behind David LeNeveu's
fifth shutout of the season and seventh of his career. Mike Walsh made 30 saves on the
other end of the ice, including a season-high 16 in the second period. Sam Paolini
scored a goal and two assists on Saturday night to help Cornell to a 5-2 win over St.
Lawrence. Cornell will face its travel partner Colgate in a home and home series this
weekend.

The Raiders also hosted the North Country duo last weekend. Against the Saints,
Colgate gave up three third-period goals but was able to salvage a 4- 4 tie after Adam
Mitchell scored his seventh of the year at 7:15 of the third. Jack O'Brien had given St.
Lawrence the lead just 13 seconds prior to Mitchell's goal, and less than a minute after
Rich Peverly tied the game at 3-3 for the Saints.
Clarkson won Saturday's game at Starr Rink with a 3-0 shutout of the Raiders. Walsh
recorded his third straight shutout against Colgate while making 21 saves in the process.

Union completed its first-ever road sweep of Dartmouth and Vermont. Freshmen
goaltender Kris Mayotte stopped all 31 shots against the explosive Big Green
offense in the Dutchmen's 2-0 win Friday night. Joel Beal assisted on both goals.
Union came back from 2-0 down in the second period to earn a 4-2 win at Vermont
on Saturday night. Jordan Webb scored the game-winning goal and added an assist.

Both Dartmouth and Vermont split their respective weekend series by defeating
Rensselaer. Vermont received three assists from Scott Mifsud in its 5-3 win over RPI
Friday night. Hugh Jessiman was the star Saturday night with a hat trick to go along
with two assists in a 7-3 Dartmouth victory against visiting RPI. Jarrett Sampson
added four assists for the Big Green. Carson Butterwick scored a goal and two assists
over the two games for the Engineers.

Dartmouth and Vermont will travel to Princeton and Yale this weekend while
RPI and Union travel to North Country to take on Clarkson and St. Lawrence.

Evan Wax had his second four-goal game of the season in Yale's 4-3 win over
UConn Saturday night. Wax, entering the season with 14 career goals, now has 15 in
this season alone. Mike Gartner stopped 28 saves for the Bulldogs.

Brown went 1-1 last week in non-conference action. The Bears downed Iona, 4-
0, Tuesday night as Scott Rowan stopped all 19 shots he faced in his first NCAA game
between the pipes. Brown fell to Merrimack, 3-1, on Saturday despite out-shooting
the Warriors 37-30 (20 shots in the second period). Brown will host cross-town rival
Providence in the 17th Annual Mayor's Cup tomorrow night before facing Harvard at
the Bright Center on Friday.
