Claudia DeMartino, an eighth grade student at Mohonasen's Draper Middle School, has added a special touch to the basketball games this season. DeMartino has graced the walls of Memorial Field House with her beautiful rendition of the National Anthem.
A well-rounded young lady, Claudia is an active member of her school's Student Council and is a member of the freshman cheerleading team. She is a key member of her the cross country and track teams, placing first in several league meets. As a member of USA Track and Field, Claudia has been a participant in the Junior Olympics Cross Country Championships.
Acting and singing are her No. 1 priorities. Claudia has been cast in lead roles in numerous Mohon Masque musicals including: “The Sound of Music”, “Annie”, “The Wizard of Oz”, “Alice in Wonderland” and “Cinderella”. She has also appeared in independent local productions such as “The Victor Herbert Festival” and “Annie”. Claudia is frequently asked to sing the “National Anthem” and “God Bless America” for official functions of the New York State Police and noteworthy community events.
She has certainly added to what has been a fantastic season for Union's basketball teams.
