Kris Goodjohn (Calgary, AB) led the Dutchmen last weekend with
two goals and two assists vs. Princeton. Goodjohn, last season's leading
scorer, surpassed his junior total of 28 points in Saturday's game.
The points were his first in three games.
Nathan Gillies (Cambridge, ON) had his fourth two-goal game of
the season vs. Princeton, adding an assist for another three-point game.
After serving his game disqualification vs. Yale, the senior captain
added his third power play goal of the season and is now second on
the team in league scoring, third overall.
Marc Neron (Moonbeam, ON) scored his first goal in nine games on
Friday, Union's lone goal vs. Yale. Neron is tied for third in overall
goals (11) and second with power play tallies (4).
Jordan Webb (Nepean, ON) and Joel Beal (Brantford, ON) kept
their scoring streaks alive with one assist each in both games. They
each have points in the last eight games (Webb: 5-10-15; Beal: 1-9-
10). Webb leads the Dutchmen in both overall and league scoring
(16-19-35//9-13-22) while Beal is one point behind (7-27-34//4-
13-17) and leads the team with assists.
Senior defenseman Randy Dagenais (Val Rita, ON) captured his first
goal in 26 games on Saturday and assisted on another goal. Dagenais
leads all Union defensemen with points (2-16-18) and leads the team
with a +12 rating.
Matt Vagvolgyi (Milford, CT) had his first points in seven games,
scoring a goal and adding an assist vs. Princeton. The goal was also
his first gamewinner of 2002-03.
All four seniors on Saturday's roster registered points vs. Princeton:
Goodjohn (2-2-4), Gillies (2-1-3), Dagenais (1-1-2), and Jason Kean
(0-1-1).
After not scoring a power play goal in the previous 15 attempts, the
Dutchmen special teams clicked and notched 2 of 5 on Saturday.
Three Dutchmen have hit the 30-point mark this season: Jordan
Webb (35), Joel Beal (34), and Nathan Gillies (31). Webb has now
tied Union's record for points in a season (Cory Holbrough 1994-95,
Chris Ford 1993-94).
